Moellering recognized for volunteer impact with Foellinger Foundation
FORT WAYNE – Recently Foellinger Foundations’ board of directors recognized Michael Moellering for his board service and leadership with the nonprofit organization.
Foellinger Foundation is a private charitable foundation that serves Allen County residents and was created in 1958.
Moellering was touted for his efforts while serving on the foundation’s board of directors since 2015. From 2020 until 2024, Moellering served as board chair. While his tenure in the role was to end in 2022, Moellering willingly extended his chairmanship after the foundation lost its chair-elect Janae McCullough-Boyd in her passing.
“Our organization has sought to assemble a board that prioritizes the very principles we are focused on today,” said Board Chair Samuel Graves. “We’ve been so fortunate to have one board member in particular who is committed to our founder’s values of accountability, responsibility, integrity and results.”
Recently Moellering was instrumental in leading the board through a strategic planning process which gave the board the opportunity to reaffirm its vision, mission and impact. In his nine years of service, Moellering’s support had a hand in the evolution of various leadership programs and recent initiatives highlighting donor intent. Among those donor initiatives is a documentary which tells the story of Foellinger Foundation’s founder, Helene Foellinger as well as a newly renovated building that creates space for community conversation and collaboration.
“In the face of global pandemic, community change and staff turnover, Mike’s leadership remained steadfast and unwavering,” said Graves. “On behalf of the Foellinger Foundation Board of Directors, thank you for your leadership, Mike. You are truly a champion of opportunity.”
